Argentina Targeted by African Nations as Potential Trade Partner
Argentina is growing rapidly economically and has aroused interest around the world. According to Finance Minister Luis Caputo, “Argentina will be the star of the region in the coming decades.”
Just like Argentina, two of the world’s fastest growing countries are in Africa. Due to this fact, the nation and the province of Santa Fe are promoting the Second LAC Africa Business Summit to be held from 3 to 5 October at the Rosario Stock Exchange. (more…)
Argentine Airline to Fly Directly from Cordoba to Santiago de Chile
Aerolineas Argentinas will begin flying from Córdoba to Santiago de Chile three times a week beginning this month. The strategy of the flagship company is to compete with “greater connectivity” since from the Cordoban airport already has connections to 14 cities, north and south of the country.
In addition to this route, in September other destinations will be added from Cordoba: Trelew, El Calafate direct (last year was via Rosario) and a seventh weekly frequency to Iguazú. Between April and June of 2017, passengers transported from the Córdoba hub by Aerolineas Argentinas grew 62% from the previous year. (more…)
Newly Declared National Park Northern Argentina
National Park El Impenetrable, an area of 130 thousand hectares that is the largest protected area of northern Argentina, was officially inaugurated last week by national, provincial and local authorities who agreed that it was “a historic day”.
“The parks reflect a vision of the development of sustainable land, of wanting to love our country while taking care of it, but at the same time giving opportunities to all. World Conference on Oenological Tourism Coming to Mendoza
Mendoza, known as the heart of Argentine winemaking, generates 70% of national wine production and around 85% of wine sales in the bottle. Argentine identity, strongly linked to wine, makes this the ideal place to offer participants the opportunity to get to know firsthand a variety of oenological tourism projects, linking public and private players from the tourism and winemaking sectors.

Largest Dinosaur Ever Found in Patagonia Region
A massive dinosaur, claimed to be the largest ever found, was recently unearthed in Argentina. Patagotitan Mayorum, as it is officially being called, is said to have weighed 69 metric tons and stood over 20 feet tall!
The dinosaur remains were found in 2012, but it was not until now that researchers studied all of the remains and released their findings. Titanosaurs, the family that this new fossil belongs to, had been discovered some years ago, but it was not until now that researchers proclaimed the Patagotitan the largest of all.
Last week, Phillip Hammond, the British economy minister, met with President Mauricio Macri and with much of the Argentine national cabinet to discuss the economic partnership between the two nations.
“In Argentina today for important talks with President @mauriciomacri on how we can deepen the economic partnership between the United Kingdom and Argentina,” Hammond wrote in his Twitter account a few minutes after his meeting with the President. Argentina and Uruguay have been bitter rivals since what seems like the inception of their countries, and in no way more than when it comes to their national football teams.
Uruguay hosted the first World Cup where the country went on to win, beating Argentina in a game for the ages. Now, 87 years later, the two countries have joined forces to create a joint bid to host the World Cup on its 100 year anniversary in 2030.
While both countries have previously hosted the World Cup, neither has done it more than once. (more…)
Argentina First Latinamerican Destination Norwegian Airlines
Beginning in February of next year, Argentina will be the first destination in Latin America Norwegian Airlines will fly to. As of February 14, 2018 Norwegian Airlines will begin offering flights four times a week from London´s Gatwick Airport to Buenos Aires´ Ezeiza Airport.

Argentina Top Destination for Medical Tourism
Argentina is now considered a top destination for medical tourism. Medical tourism is a phenomenon that occurs when people leave their own countries to seek medical care abroad for a variety of reasons, including cost and quality.
Argentina has become an attractive option for many people because of the high-quality doctors, acceptance of elective surgery, and low prices. Last year, around 14,000 people alone came to Argentina for medical tourism.
Iranian Messi Doppleganger Causes Commotion
A Lionel Messi doppleganger from Iran caused commotion in his hometown a few weekends ago. The lookalike, 25 year-old Reza Paratesh of Hamedan in eastern Iran, was first told he resembled Messi by his father.
Inspired by this, Paratesh took to the streets sporting a Barcelona jersey and Messi´s signature reddish beard.
It didn´t take long before Paratesh was mobbed by people wanting to pose for photo-ops with the self-proclaimed ¨Iranian Messi.¨ In fact, Paratesh caused so great a scene that local police actually hauled him off for a bit because traffic was getting so bad. (more…)
