Iguazu National Park in Argentina, which was named one of the Seven New Wonders of the World, has been named a Place of Outstanding Universal Value.  This means that the park is considered by UNESCO to be a zone of tremendous importance, both culturally and in nature, which extends far past the borders of the country within which it is located.

UNESCO held a General Conference at which the results of the periodic report for Latin America and The Caribbean were shared, and the conclusion to present this award was made.
