On Thursday, December 10, Mauricio Macri was inaugurated as president of Argentina in front of the legislative assembly in congress.
The full schedule of the inauguration ceremony in Buenos Aires
11.15 – Macri heads over to Congress, escorted by the Regiment of Mounted Grenadiers.
12.00 – The ceremony begins. Macri will be swearing-in in front of the Legislative Assembly. After the ceremony, the president will address the congress and population.
12.45 – End of the presidential address, the president will leave Congress.
12.50 – The president and the first lady will make their way to Casa Rosada, escorted by the regiment of Mounted Grenadiers.
13.30 – The ceremony of the transfer of power begins at Casa Rosada.
14.00 – End of the ceremony.
17.15 – The president and the first lady leave for San Martín Palace.
17.30 – The president and the first lady arrive at the San Martín Palace for the greeting of the foreign delegations ceremony.
18.40 – The president and the first lady leave for Casa Rosada.
19.00 – The swearing-in ceremony of members of the national cabinet start at Museo del Bicentenario.
20.30 – End of the ceremony.
21.30 – The president and the first lady will arrive at Teatro Colón for a special performance.
22.15 – The president and the first lady offer a post inaugural reception to the attendees.
Christina Fernandez, the former president, will not be attending the ceremony of Macri after a political power between the two of them about the interpretation of an article of the Argentine constitution. As a way of solidarity, all the deputies of the Victory Front Party (Christina’s party), decided to follow Christina’s lead and will also not attend the inauguration ceremony. That means that Macri will take place before a half empty Congress.
