Mar de Plata Film Festival in Argentina Success
Around 120 thousand tourists enjoyed the long weekend last week in the city of Mar del Plata as film fans ate, drank and watched wonderful films from across the globe.
According to the Municipal Tourism Authority (Emtur), the holiday weekend had 9 percent more revenue than last year, especially by visitors attracted by the International Film Festival as well as the International Marathon, theater plays and recitals.
“The city presented a large agenda and the hotel, gastronomy and recreation sectors worked very well as well as theaters and entertainment venues. It was a really interesting weekend for the city,” said Emtur.
The Mar de Plata International Film Festival is the only competitive feature festival recognized by the FIAPF in Latin America, and the oldest in this category in the Americas.
