Our tour begins with a trip through the Lerna Valley to El Carril, then from this point we head west to Chicoana along the Quebrada Esciope (Escoipe Gorge). Travelling up the Cuesta del Obispo, we take the opportunity to admire and photograph some breathtaking panoramic views. Crossing Los Cardones National Park, we arrive at Cachi; a beautiful old village in the Calchaqui Valley where ancient traditions are a part of everyday life. Exploring this fascinating village at leisure, we meet and chat with the locals, and visit their archaeological museums, learning of the history of this intriguing place. Following a tasty lunch, we head off through Camino de los Colorados; home to some extraordinary rock formations, then return to Salta after a truly memorable tour.
