Taxis

Taxis are not usually hard to find and can be flagged down on the streets of cities throughout Argentina. It's best not to take a taxi from the airport to central Buenos Aires as prices can be very expensive (although you will receive offers from various vendors upon arrival). You're better off taking a bus with the Manuel Tienda León company which is extremely reliable, regular and will take you directly to most addresses in and around the city centre. If you're taking a taxi during the night it's best to phone for a radio-taxi as some drivers on the streets can take tourists for a 'ride'. Rates can vary depending on the time and length of the journey but as a rough indication a taxi from Palermo to the city centre (which takes about 10-15 minutes) will cost in the region of 5 US$ during the day. Where possible try and take colectivos or buses in order to save money.
